Responsibly Diverted From Landfills
Solving Plastic Pollution
At our Akron Inficycling facility, we convert discarded plastics back into their original components to produce new plastics and other valuable products. Since the facility’s opening in 2020, our continuously-fed process has Inficycled millions of pounds of plastics, diverting them from landfills and the environment and preserving our natural resources.

Inficycling™ in Action
Follow Our Journey
Our mission is to help Inficycling continue to grow by getting involved in the community in many different ways. Here’s how we’re making a big difference in Akron today.
“If you really want to have an impact on the way the world is moving, this is a foundation for that change.”

Inficycle Engineer
Inficycle™ Meets Baseball
Alterra proudly sponsored our local minor league baseball team, the RubberDucks, during the 2024 season. We brought our Inficycling campaign to the ball field to show our community how easy it can be to renew hard-to-recycle plastics. We encouraged ball fans to bring plastic items from stadium concessions they would normally throw away, like cutlery, plates, cups, bottle caps, straws, chip bags, and candy wrappers, to Guest Services or our informational Inficycle booth in the concourse for a chance to win fun prizes.

Rep. Sykes Tours Our Facility
During the tour, we discussed the importance of reducing pollution and plastic waste and building a sustainable economy.
“Join us in disrupting the traditional thinking that hard-to-recycle plastics should be discarded and helping people see that plastics are valuable and designed to become new again. Let’s make recycling part of our daily routine!”
